Make PNG images smaller and easier to share by saving them as JPG.

About this tool

JPG is the most widely accepted image format and is often 5–10 times smaller than a PNG of the same picture. It's ideal when a website, form or email has a size limit, or when you just want lighter files.

JPG has no transparency. Transparent areas of your PNG are filled with a colour you choose — white by default — so logos and screenshots still look clean.

How to use PNG to JPG

  1. 1Choose or drop your PNG images.
  2. 2Pick a quality level and, if your image has transparency, a background colour.
  3. 3Press “Convert to JPG” and download the results.

Good to know

Which quality should I pick?

“High” (90%) looks identical to the original for photos and still saves a lot of space. Use “Smaller file” for web uploads with strict limits.

Screenshots with text

Sharp text and flat colours can show slight blur in JPG. If text must stay crisp, keep the PNG or use the highest quality.

Frequently asked questions

What happens to transparent parts of my PNG?

JPG can't store transparency, so those areas are filled with the background colour you choose. White suits most documents; pick black or another colour to match your design.

How much smaller will my file be?

For photos, usually 70–90% smaller. For simple graphics with few colours the saving is smaller, and sometimes PNG is already the more compact format.

Can I convert many PNG files at once?

Yes, up to 30 at a time. You can download them individually or together as a single ZIP file.

Is it safe for private screenshots?

Yes. Everything happens on your device; nothing is sent to our servers.
