About this tool
Splitting is useful when a scanner put many documents into one file, when an upload form limits file size, or when you need to send each person only their part.
Choose how to split: every page as its own file, every N pages, or your own ranges. Each part becomes a separate PDF and they're bundled into one ZIP download.
How to use Split PDF
- 1Choose the PDF you want to split.
- 2Pick a split mode: every page, every N pages, or custom ranges.

Good to know
Writing custom ranges
Separate parts with commas: “1-3, 4-6, 7” makes three files. You can use “end” for the last page, like “5-end”.
Only need one part?
Use Extract PDF Pages instead: it gives you a single PDF with just the pages you select.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between Split and Extract?
Split creates several files at once from one PDF. Extract creates one new file containing only the pages you pick.
Will the split files keep their quality?
Yes. Pages are copied without changes, so text, images and layout are identical to the original.
How are the files named?
Each part is named after your original file plus the pages it contains, for example “report_pages-1-3.pdf”.
Is my PDF sent to a server?
No. Splitting is done in your browser.
